The Collector With The Best Gig In Hockey

I've been a hockey fan all my life and began collecting hockey cards when I was a freshman in high school, way back in 1979.  It just so happened that same year a rookie by the name of Wayne Gretzky entered the National Hockey League, and after I had collected an entire set of 1979-80 Topps Hockey cards, including the Gretzky rookie card, my passion was ignited!

Dallas-based Beckett Hockey Monthly is the industry bible when it comes to the hobby and pricing individual cards and sets. I began collecting the magazine when it first arrived in Sept./Oct. 1990 with the very first issue featuring (you guessed it) Wayne Gretzky on the cover. So it was a real honor when they asked me to tell my story of how I turned my passion for hockey and hockey cards into one of the coolest jobs in sports, Public Address Announcer for your Dallas Stars. The article was featured in the October 2018 issue of Beckett Hockey, which you can read below.
