Michael McDonald Covers Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On"

The Doobie Brothers are reuniting with Michael McDonald for a big tour and celebrating their 50th anniversary. The Doobies will also be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later this year in Cleveland. In the meantime, McDonald is planning to release a series of singles, and the first is his cover of a very timely song, Marvin Gaye's “What’s Going On.” By the way, Marvin Gaye was born on this day (April 2) in 1929, and sadly, killed by his father April 1, 1984.
