Stream & Shout About the Beatles, as Hamburg Celebrates the 60th...

Two cities synonymous with early days of The Beatles are in the news -- one for a celebration, the other for the possible closing of an historic venue.

The celebration is this Monday (tomorrow) in Hamburg as the German city marks the Fab Four's first performance there -- August 17th, 1960 -- with a special two-hour program streaming from the Indra-Club, where that performance took place.

Stream & Shout will begin at 3 p.m. ET at Stream-Shout.Hamburg, the Hamburg Ahoi Facebook page and YouTube. It will feature live tribute performances, discussions on Beatles history, and commentary and stories from music experts and associates of the band.

The Beatles --John Lennon,Paul McCartney,George Harrison,Pete Best and Stu Sutcliffe-- played in Hamburg two years -- spending 1,200 hours on stage over 218 shows. Commenting on those days, Lennon said they "grew up in Hamburg, not Liverpool.”
