Eric Clapton used his downtime to prepare another of highlights from his Crossroads Guitar Festival, this one from last year's shows at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Although billed as the fifth festival, it was actually his sixth all-star gathering in support of his Crossroads Centre in Antigua, the chemical dependency treatment and education facility he founded in 1998.
Available as either a three-CD, six-LP, two-DVD or two-Blu-Ray set, it features performances from Clapton, Jeff Beck, Gary Clark Jr., Robert Cray, Andy Fairweather Low, Peter Frampton, Vince Gill, Buddy Guy, Los Lobos, John Mayer, Keb’ Mo’, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Randolph, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Jimmie Vaughan and many others.
It will be released on November 20th followed by its premiere on PBS on November 28th.
Also out in November, on the 13th, is another Clapton collection -- a 50th anniversary, four-vinyl disc edition of Derek and the Dominos’ Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. It's been given the Half-Speed Mastered treatment and comes with a certificate of authenticity. It also contains a 12×12 book of sleeve notes taken from the 40th Anniversary Edition.
