While Bob Dylan concert bootlegs are a dime a dozen, it's not everyday that a pristine recording of one comes along. And that was the case when a show from 2002 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta was posted to YouTube over the weekend.
The boot, titled Got a Line on You, contains 21 songs, and was recorded from an Assisted Listening Device fed directly from the soundboard. Among the songs are classics "Like a Rolling Stone," "Tangled Up in Blue," "Lay Lady Lay," "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35," "Masters of War," "Forever Young," "Blowin' in the Wind" and "All Along the Watchtower."
A review on BobsBoots.comsays, "The soundboard for this show is simply flawless. Not only is the sound exquisite, but Bob and the band are brilliant. Dylan bends and drags his words as only he can do. The band is tight and keeps up beautifully with Bob’s driving vocals. This recording proves just what a force that Dylan and his band are."
The show was Dylan's1390th of what's called his "Never-Ending Tour," which started in 1988. He's now up to 3066 shows, and, over the course of 31 years he's only released one live album -- 1995'sMTV Unplugged.
