Peter Frampton has released a second song off his forthcoming instrumental album, Frampton Forgets the Words. This time it's a cover of Roxy Music's "Avalon."
He says, “The original is such a perfect piece of music. I really wanted to get as close to the vocal inflection as I could, and I think I almost did it! It’s a sexy kind of guitar sound, like Bryan Ferry’s vocal, and I’m very proud of it.”
The first song off the album was his take on Radiohead's "Reckoner."
Frampton Forgets the Words also contains covers of songs by his childhood friend David Bowie, George Harrison, Stevie Wonder and Lenny Kravitz. It will be out on April 23rd.
