Josh Naylor Breaks Leg After Colliding with Cleveland Teammate

Okay, sometimes you see something that you can’t unsee. Things that will traumatize you, things that’ll haunt you… And the collision on the field in Minneapolis the other day? Yeah, it’s up there with Lawrence Taylor’s brutal tackle of Joe Theisman...or when Dave Dravecky’s arm snapped while pitching back in ’88.

Well, this nasty break occurred in the 4th inning of Cleveland’s game against the Twins as outfielder Josh Naylor was tracking a fly ball. His Indians teammate Ernie Clement, yeah, he was going for the fly ball as well and, you know how these things happen—the two ended up crashing into one another at high speed.

Naylor went flying, landed super awkwardly, completely twisting his leg beneath him. It was one of those things that it just hurts to watch. The brutal injury is gonna be a blow to a Cleveland lineup that has seen Naylor in action in 69 of their games this season. Yeah, the Indians currently sit two games outside of first place in their division too. So it’s gonna be impossible to chase down Chicago with a utility guy like Naylor on one leg.

Baseball, the fans, hell, anyone who watched that gnarly play, is sending their well wishes to Josh. See it HERE.
