Neil Young is officially kicking off his long-awaited “Bootleg Series.” He’s announced that the first volume will drop on October 1st.
Neil will release a 1970 show at New York’s Carnegie Hall on double vinyl, CD and high-res digital audio. He played two solo acoustic shows on December 4th and 5th of that year, and the second night has been a beloved bootleg for decades. Now the first show will be released for the first time.
The 23-song set features Buffalo Springfield classics, Cosby Stills Nash & Young tunes, and songs from “After The Gold Rush.” He also played “Old Man,” which wasn’t released on record until 1972’s “Harvest.” Fans are getting a preview of the inaugural “Bootleg Series” release with a recording of “Cowgirl In The Sand.”
