Genesis; Live in Birmingham, England.

Genesis are back on the road for their first tour in 14 years, a year after it was originally scheduled but postponed twice due to the pandemic.

The Last Domino? tour got underway Monday at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, England. With Phil Collins seated due to physical ailments, he said, “It’s been a long time coming. We know it’s been a difficult couple of years for everybody here, and those at home. But we finally made it, and we’re going to have some fun tonight.”

He then lead Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, longtime touring guitarist Daryl Stuermer, his 20-year old son Nicholas Collinson drums, and back-up singers Daniel Pearce and Patrick Smyth, through a 24-song set, some of which were abbreviated and weaved in as part of medleys.

Mixed in between hits such as "Turn it on Again," "Land of Confusion," "Throwing it All Away," "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" and "Invisible Touch" were four songs or parts of that they hadn't played in a very long time -- "Duchess" for the first time in 40 years; “Fading Lights” (29 years); "Dancing With the Moonlit Knight” (24 years); and "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" and “That’s All” (23 years).

The second of three Birmingham shows is Tuesday, followed by Wednesday. The U.K. tour runs through October 13th in London.

The North American leg starts November 15th in Chicago with 21 shows through December 16th, which Collins says will be it for the band.
