The Band: Still in Cahoots 50 Years Later...

The Band will release a 50th anniversary edition of their fourth album, Cahoots, on December 10th.

Following the same deluxe treatment given to their first three albums --Music From Big Pink, The Band and Stage Fright--Cahoots has been remixed and re-mastered.

The deluxe edition comes in a lift-top box that includes an exclusive reproduction of the Japanese pressing of their 1971 seven-inch vinyl single for “Life Is a Carnival” backed with "The Moon Struck One” in their new stereo mixes, a 20-page booklet with new notes by Robbie Robertson and lots of other goodies. It also includes a new Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround-sound mix of both the album and four bonus tracks, presented in high resolution on Blu-ray. 

Originally released on September 15th, 1971,Cahootscontains a number of The Band’s best-loved and most enduring songs, including “Life Is a Carnival,” their cover of Bob Dylan's “When I Paint My Masterpiece,” and “4% Pantomime” featuring Van Morrison on vocals with Richard Manuel.

With this announcement, they released the 2021 stereo mix of "Life Is a Carnival."
