Born on this day in 1949, Michael Shrieve, the American drummer, percussionist, and composer, turns 73. He is best known as the drummer for Santana, playing on the band's first seven albums from 1969 to 1974. Shrieve was also the second youngest musician to perform at Woodstock in 1969, being only 20 at the time. People still talk about his performance during "Soul Sacrifice." (above)
