Born on this day in 1948, Theodore Anthony "Ted" Nugent, singer-songwriter, guitarist, and political activist turns 74. Nugent initially gained fame as the lead guitarist of the Amboy Dukes, before embarking on a solo career, including a stint in the supergroup Damn Yankees with Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw. Nugent has attracted attention for his often controversial political views, and for his stance against drug and alcohol abuse.
