When Sammy Hagar announced his 2024 The Best of Both Worlds tour on November 14th -- which will focus on his time in Van Halen -- he said whatever musician is in town on a show day is welcome to come up and join him for a song or two, including David Lee Roth and Alex Van Halen.
Roth heard about this and told the Van Halen News Desk that he's "ready to go. Let's do this."
Sammy was made aware of what Roth said and then reached out to us last Wednesday evening to clarify what he said.
Hagar and Roth toured together in 2002, but they never shared the stage.
The Best of All Worlds tour -- featuring Michael Anthony and Jason Bonham from The Circle, along with Joe Satriani from Hagar's previous band, Chickenfoot -- with Loverboy opening, starts July 13th in West Palm Beach, Florida, and stops at Dos Equis Pavillion in Dallas, August 22nd.
