Born on this day in 1947, Gregory Lenoir "Gregg" Allman, the American singer-songwriter and musician, best known for performing in the Allman Brothers Band, would have turned 76. Gregg wrote several of the band's biggest songs, including "Whipping Post", "Melissa", and "Midnight Rider." Sadly, we lost Gregg on May 27, 2017, due to complications from liver cancer. He was 69 years old.
