Rush Reunion Now Seems Unlikely

For one brief moment in time (aka: the last few months as Geddy Lee has pushed his new memoir), it looked like one of classic rock’s greatest bands might be headed for a comeback. But even as Lee’s “My Effin’ Life” makes its way through bookstores, it now seems a reunion for Rush isn’t going to happen.

“A lot of people didn’t feel they had closer after we finished the last tour… and I think this is a way of giving them a bit,” Lifeson said of appearing with his old bandmate in London and Toronto last month. Calling the experiences “a no brainer,” the guitarist then added “I’m not interested in touring anymore.”

The rocker stopped short of slamming the door on anything down the road for Rush, however. “I know Ged would like to play again… (and) spend some time writing,” Lifeson teased. “Whenever he’s ready, like usual, I only live five minutes from him.”
