Lou Gramm Weighs in on Foreigner's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nomination

When it came to glaring oversights for who should be nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of FameForeigner topped the list.

But that changed last Saturday when they received their first nomination, despite being eligible since 2002.

The nomination is the original line-up -- founder and guitarist Mick Jones, bassist Rick Wills, keyboardist Al Greenwood, drummer Dennis Elliott, the late bassist Ed Gagliardi, the late guitarist and keyboardist Ian McDonald, and singer Lou Gramm."

Gramm has long maintained that it was Rolling Stone and Rock Hall co-founder and former Rock Hall Foundation Chairman Jann Wenner who kept them from being nominated.

The Class of 2024 will be announced in April with the ceremony set for Cleveland in the fall -- date to be announced. Gramm says if elected for induction, he'll be there.

This year's other nominees are:

  • Mariah Carey - first nomination
  • Cher - first nomination
