John Mellencamp started this year's leg of his Live and In Person tour last Friday in Rochester, New York, and the second stop was Sunday in Newark, New Jersey where he was joined by his friend and hometown hero Bruce Springsteen.
But, instead of performing one of the three songs Springsteen did on Mellencamp's 2022 album, Strictly a One-Eyed Jack, they played "Pink Houses," the final song of the set.
Mellencamp posted footage of the performance on his socials.
Springsteen will no doubt be on hand next month when Mellencamp is recognized as one of the four honorees at the American Music Honors event on April 24th at the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music on the campus of Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The other honorees are Jackson Browne, Mavis Staples and Dion DiMucci.
Mellencamp played North Texas last year....so far, no area dates are shown for 2024.
