More Rockers Sign Up to be Part of Spinal Tap Sequel

Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lars Ulrich of Metallica are the latest musicans to sign on for cameos in the sequel to This Is Spinal Tap.

They join the previously announced Elton JohnPaul McCartney and Garth Brooks appearing in the film, which reunites David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest) and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer) along with original director Marty DeBergi (played by actual director Rob Reiner). Also joining the cast is Fran Drescher reprising her role as publicist Bobbi Flekman from the original film.

The as-yet-untitled sequel is currently filming in New Orleans and Reiner has suggested that The Band's film The Last Waltz is a kind of inspiration for the new project.

Smith and Ulrich should be very careful when they get on set, as the previous 18 drummers in Spinal Tap have all died under mysterious circumstances.
