On This Day In 1967 The Beatles Sgt. Pepper Album Cover Photo Session

On this day in 1967, the cover for Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was photographed at a London studio.  Cardboard cutouts and wax figures were used to represent the Beatles’ heroes like Edgar Allan Poe, Lenny Bruce, Bob Dylan and others. Paul McCartney said “We all just chose oddball things from everywhere and put them together. We all chose our own colors and our own materials: 'You can't have that, he's having it…" Afterward, the band returned to Studio 2, Abbey Road, to record 'With A Little Help From My Friends’.
