Pink Floyd held a competition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of “The Dark Side Of The Moon,” but some fans aren’t very happy with the band. See, they asked fans to create videos for each of the tracks on the record, and an AI-generated video was among the winners! People could submit a video for each track, and three videos overall got a cash prize.
Damián Gaume submitted the video for ”Any Colour You Like,” and was apparently upfront that he used AI to create it. The AI video ended up being chosen as the winning video for that particular track. However many fans say that choosing an AI video is an insult to the fans who submitted videos they made by humans.
For those who are upset about Damian’s win, they may be happy to know he didn’t get any cash for his submission. A “Brain Damage” video from Dabrundashvili and Nikitina took home the grand prize of $100-thousand and David Horne won $50-thousand for his ”Time” video, while third place went to Monica Fibbi’s ”Eclipse” video.
