Billy Idol Releases 40th Anniversary of 'Rebel Yell' LP Today

With Billy Idol releasing the 40th anniversary edition of his second album, 1983’s Rebel Yell today, he’s posted a video for the Vevo Footnotes series in which he goes behind-the-scenes of “Eyes Without a Face.” He says his goal for the song was to release something that wasn’t heard at that time. “I think I was deliberately trying to not write a love song because the ’80s was full of love songs, all drippy, soppy love songs. So I thought maybe I’ll just write an anti-love song. It’s almost a murder song; it’s what I was thinking about, something like a serial killer.”
