Michael Anthony Weighs in on Alex Van Halen Quitting Music

Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony reacted to the news of Alex Van Halen auctioning off his musical equipment in an interview with “Ultimate Guitar,” sharing the news made him pretty sad. Alex had rarely played without his brother Eddie Van Halen, who passed away in 2020. “I was pretty surprised when I heard about this auction…it is pretty sad, because it truly means that it’s the end of anything that that could have been, as far as tribute-wise,” Anthony says.
