Released on this day in 1979, The Kids Are Alright is a soundtrack double-album by The Who, which served as a companion to the band's documentary of the same name. It was a retrospective look at the band's biggest hits throughout their career, with most of the tracks being live recordings, rather than the original studio versions. The album peaked at #8 in the US on the Billboard album chart and went platinum, while in the UK it peaked at a disappointing #26.
