Today: Big Day in Rolling Stones' Rock and Roll History

Some Rock and Roll History...

In May 1962, Brian Jones came up with the name The Rolling Stones after spotting the cover of the Muddy Waters' song, "Rollin' Stone," which they cover on their new album, Hackney Diamonds.

A little over two years later, June 10th, 1964, they met one of their heroes during a recording session at Chess Studios in Chicago. But instead of having a guitar in his hands, Muddy had a paintbrush as he was painting the ceiling.

Keith adds that Muddy wasn't forced to paint the ceiling, but rather took it upon himself to do so because "he was that type of guy."

While at Chess, the Stones recorded what became their first number-one song in the UK, Bobby Womack's "It's All Over Now."
