Born on this day in 1950, Brad M. Carlson (pka Bun E. Carlos) the original smoking drummer and co-founder of Cheap Trick, turns 74. On March 19, 2010, Cheap Trick issued a statement that Carlos had stopped touring with Cheap Trick but that he still remained a band member. Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Neilsen's son Daxx became the band's touring drummer.
In Bun E's honor, check out a classic Cheap Trick performance from 1977 on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert, which included a camera focused the entire time on Bun E. (above).
