Dead and Company Say "The Sphere in Vegas Needs Tinkering"

While the Sphere in Las Vegas has become one of the town's biggest attractions, Bob Weir, who is doing a 30-date residency there as part of Dead & Company, says it's still not all cracked up to what it could be.

He tells Variety, “The technology doesn’t quite yet exist for them to put the visuals completely in time with the music (in a mammoth space).

“They’re generally a little late and all that kind of stuff. But there’s audio technology that keeps right up with the music. And I think what we’re gonna want to do is try to adapt some of that audio technology to the visual technology.”

Another drawback he says is having to upload all the visuals before the show.

“I’d love to see the arrangement get much looser and much more interactive — and I think it will, if we take another swing at it."

And swing they will, adding, "I wouldn’t be surprised if we get invited back, and I would certainly make room for that.”

Dead & Company return to the Sphere on July 4th followed by 11 shows through August 10th.

The Eagles will then follow for 12 shows from September 20th through November 9th....keep listening to Lonestar 92.5 to win a grand prize Eagles flyaway to Las Vegas.
