It's tough enough to try and portray Bruce Springsteen, what with his chiseled chin and raspy voice, but actor Jeremy Allen White, known for playing Lip on 'Shamelss' and Carmine on 'The Bear', says he wants to be all in when he plays "The Boss" in Deliver Me From Nowhere, a film about the making of his 1982 album, Nebraska.
Asked by Variety if he will do his own singing, he said, “We’re gonna try. We’re gonna try our best.”
As for whether or not he's been spending time with Springsteen, he said they've yet to meet and that they've been communicating through other people.
The film is based on Warren Zanes's 2023 book Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska.
You can see Allen White in season three of The Bear, which premieres tonight at 8 on Hulu.
