Wolfgang Van Halen, appearing on the WTF With Marc Maron podcast, says he's taken "a big step back" from social media and no longer engages with those who have negative things to say about him.
While he says it's "done wonders for [his] mental health," he adds that "from a neutral standpoint I completely understand" why fans were against him, especially when he first joined Van Halen in 2007.
Asked if the negative comments had to do with him taking over for Michael Anthony, he said yes, but added that that was between his father and Michael.
There is no bad blood between Wolfgang and Michael. Last December, Michael attended Wolfgang's show in Las Vegas and spent time catching up with him and his mother, actress Valerie Bertinelli.
