Music News from Eddie Vedder, Huey Lewis and the News and Rod Stewart

Eddie Vedder has released his studio version of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' "Room at the Top" off of 1999’s Echo. Vedder has covered it many times over the years during his solo shows as well as the 2018 Academy Awards. This version, produced by Andrew Watt, is on the soundtrack to the Apple TV+ series Bad Monkey starring Vince Vaughn.

IN OTHER MUSIC NEWS....

Huey Lewis is following up his recent failed attempt at a Broadway musical, The Heart of Rock and Roll, with a TV show. In development with FOX, he will play a fictionalized version of himself as he navigates his life after losing his hearing in Whatever Happened to Huey Lewis, a comedic half-hour mockumentary in the style of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm.

ALSO.....

Rod Stewart, who had to postpone the 200th and final show of his Las Vegas residency, The Hits, last Wednesday due to strep throat, had to postpone shows this past Friday in Stateline, Nevada and Saturday in Lincoln, California due to “a summer strain of COVID.” The Lincoln show will be made up on August 18th with Stateline on the 20th.
