Remembering Phil Lynott On His 75th Birthday

Today, the great Philip Parris Lynott would have turned 75. The Irish musician and songwriter, best known as the founding member, the principal songwriter, lead vocalist, and bassist of Thin Lizzy was born on this day in 1949. Sadly, we lost Phil on January 4, 1986, after a lengthy battle with drug abuse. Phil remains a popular rock icon, and in 2005, a statue in his memory was erected in Dublin, Ireland.
