Neil Young's Message of Love

At the time of David Crosby’s death on January 18th, 2023, his friend and occasional bandmate Neil Young was no longer talking to him due to comments Crosby made about his wife, actress Daryl Hannah.

Perhaps Young regrets not accepting Crosby’s apology, as he wrote on his website Sunday, “I woke up this morning remembering David Crosby, Graham Nash and I in the studio at A&M, Los Angeles, 8/23/70.

"The song we started making up was called 'Music Is Love.' David started the song. It turned into a phrase that I have heard for decades. Don't know if we started it or not, but it still rings true today.

"Now it's for remembering you, David, my old friend. What a road we traveled!"

The song, which the three of them co-wrote, is on Crosby's debut album, 1971's If I Could Only Remember My Name.

Young has released a live version of “Thrasher” from 1978 in San Francisco off his latest collection, Archives Vol. III, which will be out on Friday.
