Born on this day in 1950, Anthony Joseph Pereira (aka Joe Perry), the lead guitarist, backing and occasional lead vocalist, and contributing songwriter for Aerosmith turns 74. Perry is considered one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time. In 2001, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of Aerosmith, and in 2013, Perry and his songwriting partner Steven Tyler were recipients of the ASCAP Founders Award and were also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
