Happy 75th Birthday to Bruce Springsteen!

Bruce Springsteen turns 75 today, September 23rd.

Born in Long Branch, New Jersey, he is of Dutch and Irish descent through his father and Italian on his mother's side. He spent his childhood in Freehold, New Jersey, and it was there that he realized he wanted to be a musician.

After bouncing around in local bands, he developed his talent for songwriting and went off on his own.

He's released 21 studio albums, and he's backed by The E Street Band on 13.

Considered a great songwriter, Bruce will go down as one of the greatest performers of his generation, routinely playing three-plus-hour shows.

Bruce has been married to singer Patti Scialfa since 1991. They have three children and one grandchild.

A member of the Rock & Roll Hall and Songwriters Halls of Fame, a successful Broadway star and winner of numerous awards, Bruce will start a Canadian tour on October 31st in Montreal.

And, just in time for the milestone birthday comes another edition of his Spotify Live Series. Songs of Conscience contains 15 songs from 1981 to 2023 — including "This Land Is Your Land,” “Promised Land,” “Born in the U.S.A.,” “Souls of the Departed,” “Long Walk Home,” “The Rising,” “The Ghost of Tom Joad,” “Sun City,” “American Skin (41 Shots)” and “Last Man Standing.”

And just five days after headlining the Sea Hear Now festival in Asbury Park. New Jersey, the final U.S. date for the year, comes the complete performance, which you can stream at Nugs.net.

Among the songs are two from his debut album, 1973's Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J. — "Blinded by the Light" and "Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street?," both of which he hadn't done since 2017 — and from his second album, 1973's The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle, "4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)," which he last did in 2016, dedicating it to the late E Street Band keyboardist Danny Federici.

Also making their tour debuts at this show for the first time since 2016 were "Thundercrack" and "Meeting Across the River," plus "Local Hero," "Jungleland" and "Jersey Girl," all of which he last did in 2023.
