Sammy Hagar: A Big Announcement Broke Today

UPDATE TO BELOW STORIES................

Sammy Hagar is returning to Las Vegas for his first residency there since 2021 and '22 when he did 14 shows at The Strat.

This time he's setting up shop at Dolby Live at Park MGM for nine shows from April 30th through May 17th.

When Sammy started this tour in July, Jason Bonham from his other band, The Circle, was on drums. But when Jason had to fly home to England to care for his ailing mom Pat -- who is recovering -- he was replaced literally at the last minute by Kenny Aronoff for the final seven shows, which is one of the reasons why he'll stay on for the residency.

Bonham will be touring with his band, Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Evening, starting this Tuesday in Indianapolis through December 16th in Tampa with more dates next year including the Rock Legends Cruise in February, as well as European dates with his other band, Black Country Communion.

The dates for Sammy Hagar's The Best of All Worlds Las Vegas Residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM are April 30th, and May 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 9th, 10th, 14th, 16th, and 17th. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. PT at Ticketmaster.com.

In addition to the residency, Sammy has a Cabo Wabo Cantina inside the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and Sammy’s Island, a tropical pool getaway inspired by his music and Cabo Wabo brand at the Palms Casino Resort. And this Sunday, Sammy and Michael Anthony will perform during halftime at the Las Vegas Raiders - Denver Broncos game at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas in tribute to the military.

On November 21st, 2021, Sammy performed at halftime of the Raiders - Cincinnati Bengals game in Vegas.

Sammy is making a special announcement this coming Monday regarding his Best of All Worlds band, and they're recording a new song.
Tentatively titled "Thank You" or "Over in the Corner," it still needs to be mixed and there's no release date yet.

In other Hagar News, Sammy Hagar takes issue with Alex Van Halen's criticism of his The Best of All Worlds tour with Michael AnthonyJoe Satriani and Jason Bonham.

Last month, while Alex was promoting his memoir, Brothers, he told Billboard that after David Lee Roth left Van Halen it wasn't "the same band," adding that it wasn't "better or worse or any of that. We always gave it our best shot, but the magic was in the first years when we were willing to try anything."

Nonetheless, Sammy asked Alex to be part of The Best of All Worlds Tour with Michael AnthonyJoe Satriani and Jason Bonham. But Alex wasn't "interested," saying, "They're not doing the band justice. They can do what they want. It's not my business."

Sammy disagrees, telling us, "We're doing the band more than justice."

Sammy adds that he hasn't read Brothers, but has seen and heard some excerpts, and viewed some of Alex's Live Talks event in Los Angeles.

Sammy Hagar has posted a video of himself and Michael Anthony with the caption, "Big announcement coming up next week. The Best of All Worlds band. We are up to something."

The video shows him and Anthony recording, and Hagar has made it known that he wants to record new music, in the vein of Van Halen, with his current band, which is rounded out by drummer Jason Bonham and guitarist Joe Satriani.

They toured the U.S. this past summer followed by three dates in Japan in September, leaning heavily on Van Halen material from Hagar's time with them.

Hagar's last album was 2022's Crazy Times with his other band, The Circle, which includes Anthony and Bonham with Vic Johnson on guitar.
