Chad Smith watching a drummer play along to the Red Hot Chili Peppers 1999 track "Otherside" has become a TikTok smash.
The video captures Armond Davis playing on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, California while Smith quietly sits on some steps watching Davis jam along. The caption on the video says "Imagine shooting hoops in front of Michael Jordan and not even realizing it?"
Davis posted a response to the original video and said that it took until halfway through playing "Otherside" that he realized someone was watching him play, and that he saw the person had "really good energy."
Davis said that after he was done playing a woman told him that Smith was watching him and pointed out the store that the peppers drummer had walked into. So Davis went in the store and Smith walked up to him and said, "Dude, you rocked it." Then Smith posed for a picture with Davis.
