Bryan Adams Among the List of Nominees for Songwriters Hall of Fame

The Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced its nominees for the Class of 2025.

In the Performing Songwriters category the nominees are:

  • Bryan Adams (Bryan will play Lucas Oil Live in Thackerville, OK on March 2nd)
  • Boy George -- real name George Alan O’Dowd
  • George Clinton
  • Sheryl Crow
  • Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald and Patrick Simmons of The Doobie Brothers
  • Eminem -- real name Marshall Mathers
  • David Gates of Bread
  • Janet Jackson
  • Tommy James
  • Mike Love
  • Alanis Morissette
  • Dr. DreEasy E, Ice CubeMC Ren and DJ Yella of N.W.A
  • Steve Winwood

To be nominated, a songwriter "with a catalog of notable songs" qualifies for induction 20 years after their "first significant commercial release of a song."

The Class of 2025 will be announced next year with the ceremony held each June in New York.

Unlike the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, there is no physical Songwriters Hall of Fame.
