HBO has released the trailer for Music Box: Yacht Rock: A Documentary.
Featured in the clip, which you can watch on YouTube, are Michael McDonald, Christopher Cross, Kenny Loggins, Toto’s Steve Lukather, actor and musician Fred Armisen, and Questlove, who describes yacht rock as “perfect sitting down dancing music.” Armisen adds, “The singers all seem to be saying, ‘Hey, it’s going to be OK.’”
McDonald and Cross are seen discussing their fall from grace with Cross saying that video did kill the radio star, and McDonald adding, “I expected to be totally forgotten by the end of the ’80s.”
The film also touches upon the 2005 online comedy series Yacht Rock, with McDonald saying, "I always thought it was kinda flattering to be made fun of.”
Music Box: Yacht Rock: A Documentary will premiere on the cable network on November 29th at 8 p.m.
