Born on this day in 1955, William Michael Albert Broad, aka Billy Idol, turns 69 (nice!). The English musician, singer, songwriter, and actor first achieved fame in the 1970s as a member of the punk rock band Generation X. Subsequently, he embarked on a solo career which led to international recognition and made Idol one of the lead artists during the MTV-driven "Second British Invasion" in the United States. After living in the USA for 30 years, Billy recently became an official American citizen.
In his honor, take a video trip down memory lane with one of rock's most iconic frontmen.
