On this Day in 1980, Led Zeppelin Calls it Quits

On this day in 1980 (December 4th), Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones announce that they've decided not to continue as Led Zeppelin in the wake of drummer John Bonham's death on September 25th, 1980.

One of Led Zeppelin's biggest hits is "Stairway to Heaven", released in 1971 on the LP Led Zeppelin IV. The song was never released as a single, it was however, the most requested song on FM radio throughout the 1970's.

Gibson has produced another Jimmy Page signature guitar.

The Jimmy Page EDS-1275 Doubleneck VOS '69 Cherry is a recreation of the double-necked guitar that Page used when Led Zeppelin would perform "Stairway to Heaven" live. It costs $10,000.

Check out the original post about it here from Jimmy Page's official Instagram page, as well as for Gibson.
