Born on this day in 1964, Edward Louis Severson III (pka Eddie Vedder), American musician, multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter best known as the lead vocalist, one of three guitarists, and the lyricist of Pearl Jam, becomes the newest member of rock's Sexagenarian Club. Vedder was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017 as a member of Pearl Jam. In his honor, let's go back to 1992 when Pearl Jam performed at the first ever Edgefest show in Dallas. The story goes; Pearl Jam was arguably one of the biggest bands on the planet at the time but had yet to perform to a festival crowd that large, and Eddie was afraid if they headlined no one would stick around to see them. So, Dramarama would end up headlining and Pearl Jam went on second to last.

In honor of Eddie's birthday, hear Pearl Jam performing at Edgefest #1 at Starplex in Dallas on April 19. 1992
