Def Leppard's Vivian Campbell Gives Positive Health Update

UPDATE TO BELOW STORY.......

Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell shared a positive health update amid his 12-year battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The band shared on social media that the artist’s recent bone marrow transplant was very successful. “Thank you for all the recent messages and support. As you all may know, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma several years ago. I recently had a bone marrow transplant as part of my treatment plan, and it’s safe to say that thus far it’s been a very successful transplant! I just have to keep my head down and my spirits up for the next 100 days of primary recovery,” Viv shared in a post. If his recovery progresses as planned, some believe that Campbell will be able to join the band for their May 15 tour kickoff in Puerto Rico. You can view the update on the right.

Def Leppard played their first show of 2025 on Saturday night in Leon, Mexico, but one of the band’s members was noticeably absent from the group.

Vivian Campbell cannot be with us tonight,” frontman Joe Elliott explained to the crowd in attendance. “He’s just recovering from some treatment for his cancer. So, manfully, please say hello to the guy that’s standing in for him tonight, Mr. John Zocco on guitar.”

Def Leppard will play Lucas Oil Live at Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma on June 21st.
