Don Felder says he Will Rock 'til he Drops

UPDATE TO BELOW STORY....

Don Felder says the song he almost passed out during while on stage last Thursday aboard the Rock Legends Cruise wasn't his first choice if it were to be the last song he ever played.

Felder was suffering from dehydration and was able to do two more shows aboard the cruise -- Saturday and Sunday -- as well as taking part in a Q&A session along with Colin Blunstone of The Zombies and Robin Trower.

It was during the Q&A that Felder said he will release a new album in May, his fourth, although he couldn't divulge the title. His last one was American Rock 'n' Roll in 2019.

Felder will be part of this spring and summer's Brotherhood of Rock tour with Styx and Kevin Cronin, formerly of REO Speedwagon. It starts on May 28th in Greenville, South Carolina.

Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder was back on stage Saturday after almost passing out while performing on Thursday.

Performing inside Studio B aboard the Rock Legends Cruise on Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas, he just started playing "Tequila Sunrise" when he went weak in the knees, stumbled, and was escorted off stage, cutting short the show.

Deemed to be dehydrated, the ship's medical rules stated he quarantine for 24 hours in order to rest.

And doctor's orders worked as he turned in a 90-minute performance on Saturday in the ship's Royal Theatre.

Taking the stage to a standing ovation, he kicked off with the Eagles' "Already Gone," which was appropriate given the lyrics.

When he sang "feelin' strong" he flexed his bicep and the audience cheered.

Following the song he said, "Thank you for all the concern you had for my little event. I really appreciate it."

He then took a sip of water, which brought another round of applause, and then he said, "You have to drink your water."

And then before doing Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Pride and Joy" he dedicated it to his girlfriend, Jaden Osborne, who raced to his side Thursday to escort him off the stage. He then took another sip of water, and again, applause, before saying, "I learned my lesson."

Felder did another show yesterday followed by an interview with Premiere's Sal Cirrincione on a panel with Colin Blunstone of The Zombies and Robin Trower -- in which he discussed what happened, saying he felt fine all day long until starting "Tequila Sunrise."

Felder adds that he made the mistake of flying to Miami from Los Angeles without drinking water, adding that, "I just learned my lesson that you can't not consume enough water during the day."
