Guns & Roses Announce New Drummer, Isaac Carpenter

UPDATE TO BELOW STORY......

It didn't take Guns n' Roses long to name a replacement for long-time drummer Frank Ferrer.

The group posted on its social media this afternoon that Isaac Carpenter would be taking up the drum stool. He does have a strong connection to the band as he was the drummer for Duff McKagan's Loaded from 2009 to 2011.

Carpenter has also played with Adam LambertBarbarians of CaliforniaA Perfect CircleThe ExiesOurs and Black Lab. But his most recent job was with Awolnation, who he played with for over a decade, appearing on five of their albums.

Awolnation are starting a tour on March 27th in San Diego that runs through May 10th, so Carpenter could conceivably do that tour before GNR launches their world tour in Saudi Arabia on May 23rd. As of now Awolnation haven't commented on Carpenter's new gig.

Guns n' Roses have announced that drummer Frank Ferrer has left the group.

Ferrer was the longest-serving drummer in the group's history, starting with the Axl Rose-led lineup back in 2006. His last gig with the Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan lineup was November 5th, 2023 in Mexico.

The band says that it was an "amicable exit" and that they thank Ferrer "for his friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and they wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey."

The departure is a bit of surprise as Ferrer posted on his Instagram back in December about being excited for GnR's 2025 tour, which starts May 23rd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and continues through the end of July.
