In Beatles news, a demo they recorded at Decca Studios in London on January 1st, 1962 was found in a Vancouver record shop.
Labeled "Beatles 60s demos", Rob Frith, owner of Neptoon Records, played the reel-to-reel tape, thinking it was a bootleg. He posted a video and has since learned that it's a direct copy of an early audition recording.
He tells CBC News, “The way that’s wound on the tape, you can see that it separates the tracks … it’s not a fast copy or a bootleg.”
A bootleg of these recordings was release in the late '70s.

A part of John Lennon's family life is included in a new immersive exhibit in London.
His half-sister Julia Baird will be on hand on May 22nd in the Camden neighborhood to help unveil Live Odyssey, which is an "exhibition museum and live experience together," taking you through "six decades of music via a two-and-a-half-hour adventure that captures the evolution of British music, from the early anthems of the ’60s and ’70s to the Britpop explosion of the ’90s and today’s cutting-edge hits."
As for the Lennon segment, organizers says, "Julia is set to reveal the battle between two strong, self-willed women – John’s mother (also named Julia) and his Aunt Mimi – to win custody of John. Julia is candid about the sadness as well as the joy of their broken family life. She also details the devastating loss of their mother Julia in a road accident – and describes the painful legacy for the entire family, especially John as he garners extreme fame with The Beatles.”
Other acts featured in the exhibit Include The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen, David Bowie, Oasis, Duran Duran, Eurythmics and many others.
