UPDATE TO BELOW STORY............
Yes famously covered Simon & Garfunkel's "America," so it's not too surprising to learn that they also covered The Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby."
They gave the 1966 song the progressive treatment in February 1969 at Polydor Studios in London as can be heard on the recording that just surfaced on YouTube.
Bootleg records collector Ian Hartley, who posted the song, says, "This particular recording has never been publicly released before. Here is the first (failed) take of the 'Eleanor Rigby' run-throughs as recorded in raw form at the time. Apart from some speed correction, no remastering was done to the master tapes."
It was done by the band's original recorded line-up of singer Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, drummer Bill Bruford, guitarist Peter Banks, and keyboardist Tony Kaye.
According to the YesFans forum, there are three known studio recordings of them playing "Eleanor Rigby," none of which have ever been officially released.
The current version of Yes, which contains none of the members on the "Eleanor Rigby" recording, are working on a new album that they hope to release next year.

Rock N' Roll Hall Of Famers Yes aren't even close to slowing down yet. Keyboardist Geoff Downes has confirmed that the band is once again in the studio, working on their third album of new material since 2021. "We've been working on an album for the past six months," Downes says. "Steve [Howe] is at the helm and I think it will be out later in the year." This will be the first album for the band since 2023's "Mirror In The Sky."
