Paul Simon Kicks Off 'A Quiet Celebration Tour'

Paul Simon did his impression Friday and Saturday of KISSCherThe Who and many others who returned to touring after doing a farewell tour when he kicked off A Quiet Celebration Tour, his first since 2018, with two nights in New Orleans.

Backed by a nine-piece band, he turned in a 19-song set on Friday and expanded it to 20 on Saturday with the addition of "Father and Daughter."

The first set saw him do his last album, 2023's Seven Psalms, in its entirety, while the second had him do a smattering of hits and deep cuts. His wife, singer Edie Brickell, joined him for three songs -- two in the first set and one in the second.

The tour, which runs through August 3rd in Seattle, moves to Austin, Texas for three nights starting on Tuesday.
