Steve Nicks Working on a New Album

Stevie Nicks is working on a new album.

While giving her induction speech for being inducted into the Pollstar Live! Hall of Fame Wednesday night at the Pollstar Awards in Los Angeles she said, "I call it the ghost record because … it just kind of happened in the last couple of weeks,” adding that she was motivated to do so during the Los Angeles wild fires.

“I was sitting in a hotel for 92 days and at some point during that last part of the 92 days I said, ‘You know what, I feel like I’m on the road but there’s no shows.’ And I thought, ‘You need to go back to work.’ And I did.”

She's written seven songs, saying they are "autobiographical, real stories where I’m not pulling any punches for probably the first time in my life. [There aren’t ]airy fairy songs. "They’re real stories of memories of mine of fantastic men.”

One of them is about Prince whose "Little Red Corvette" inspired her to write "Stand Back," for which they share publishing royalties. He also plays synthesizer on the song.

Stevie's last album was 2014’s 24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault. Her last new song was “The Lighthouse,” released last September.

Stevie tour stops in Oklahoma City at PayCom Center on October 15th.
