According to Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke, they have received enough votes and will be elected for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at the 40th induction ceremony this fall.
In an interview he did last week with VRP Rocks prior to the Rock & Roll Fan Vote ending this past Monday, he said, "I'm told by an insider that we are gonna get in... I've already spoken with Paul [Rodgers] about what song we're gonna play [at the ceremony], and it's gonna be 'Can't Get Enough'. And, yeah, I'm happy — I'll be happy for Mick [Ralphs], 'cause Mick had a stroke several years ago and he is in not good shape. And as long as he holds out when we get on that stage in November, we're gonna give a shout out to Mick. Because he wrote the damn song — he wrote 'Movin' On' and he wrote a lot of the hits and he deserves it."
Unfortunately, Mick will not be able to attend as his condition makes it difficult for him to travel.
This was the first year Bad Company were nominated, despite being eligible since 1999.
The Class of 2025 will be announced on Sunday night on ABC's American Idol. The induction ceremony will be held in the fall in Los Angeles.
Bad Company came in second in the Fan Vote behind Phish and ahead of Billy Idol, Cyndi Lauper and Joe Cocker to round out the top five vote-getters.
