Bad Company's Paul Rodgers Joins The Changels for "Rock and Roll Fantasy"

Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers recently joined members of The Changels -- "Angels of Change" -- choir in California’s Coachella Valley for a special rendition of Bad Co.’s "Rock & Roll Fantasy.”

It was recorded as part of the Adopt the Arts Foundation's ongoing commitment to providing music education in underserved communities.

Rodgers says, "Music has the power to transform lives – I've experienced it myself and seen it countless times throughout my career.

Working with these young, talented and very engaged singers is an opportunity to pass along not just technical knowledge, but the passion, joy and spirit that comes from musical expression."

And former Gun N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum, who founded Adopt the Arts and co-produced the track, adds, "We're not just teaching these kids about music – we're showing them how music can open doors and create community. Having Paul Rodgers join us is incredible.

These are formative experiences that build confidence and skills these kids will carry with them throughout their lives."

The Changels, a diverse group of elementary students from Adopt the Arts' partner schools in the Palm Springs Unified School District, are recording songs focused on themes of unity and hope.

After the session, they sat with Paul and he told them how he came to write "Rock & Roll Fantasy," explaining that Bad Company's manager -- presumably Peter Grant -- suggested they write more songs before going on tour. And that's what he did, while using a synthesizer guitar, which contained a myriad of sounds.

The session was filmed as part of an ongoing documentary project following The Changels' musical journey, showcasing the impact of music education during children's formative years.
