ZZ Top Get their "Beard" Back this Sunday

ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard is rejoining the tour this Sunday in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada after being sidelined for two-and-a-half months due to foot and ankle issues.

Singer and guitarist Billy Gibbons is pleased, saying, “We’re happy that Frank is back with (bassist) Elwood (Francis) and yours truly, BFG. We missed him and are looking forward to turning it up and rocking out with him as has been the case for the last few hundred or so decades. His complete recovery is cause for celebration and that’s just what we intend to do on an open-ended basis. Welcome back, pardner!”

And Beard, a man of few words who has no beard, adds, “It’s good to be back. See you out there.”

ZZ's longtime tech member, percussionist and drummer John Douglas filled in.

Beard and Gibbons are the only two members of ZZ left following the death of bassist Dusty Hill in 2021.
